Teaching with Technology in the Mathematics Classroom: Grades 1-8

I recently attended a day long workshop and found the information extremely applicable to the mathematics classroom.  I learned how to use the SMART Board, SMART Notebook software, Digital Storytelling, Illuminations, National Library of Virtual Manipulatives and other online resources.  Also included in the workshop was information on wikis, podcasts, and blogs.  It was clear that these technological resources increase student understanding in the mathematics classroom.  I was also given information on how to guide my students through the Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) intervention using SMART Board lessons that will help increase student interest and understanding.  The workshop has made me feel more comfortable and better able to use a variety of technologies in my future classroom.
